Hand tools, chainsaws, and an against-the-grain (pun intended) idea is how we got started in this craft. We decided that whatever we design and build, it should be done right: by hand, locally, and responsibly. We have been fortunate enough to have unique opportunities to recycle, reclaim, and salvage materials of all kinds, and subsequently have dedicated ourselves to this standard as often as we can. Twelve years later, having honed our process, our craft, and our style, we are focused on the things we love: originality, artistry, quality, and doing it all as responsible stewards of this world.
We strive to produce heirloom quality pieces that are innovatively designed, precision crafted, and sustainably sourced. Whether contemporary, traditional, or rustic, we always use high quality materials that are, whenever possible, harvested with viable intention. Our work is functional, creative, and we have a good time doing it. We will not have it any other way.Facebook Instagram 0 CLIENTS WORKED WITH 0 COLLLECTIVE POWDER DAYS 0 CUSTOM PIECES BUILT 0 SPLINTERS 9 TREES SAVED Our Awesome team “Let the wood and the trees they came from tell the story, for they have lived a longer much more interesting life than we have.” -Chris, Owner “Humankind has looked to the trees to feed not only the flesh , but the spirit.”- Owen “What you make from a tree should be at least as miraculous as what you cut down.” -McKinley “Hey table saw, wanna cut some stuff?” Table saw: “Buzz buzz!” -Aaron “Be sure to use the right tool for the job.” – Mark “Sometimes you just need to change your altitude.” -Alex “Woodworking is as liberating as singing Adele as loud as you can into your trucks PA system.”- Taylor, Alumni Previous Next WHAT THE BUZZ buzz IS all ABOUT Customers reviews As an interior designer with over 20 years experience in high-end home design, I have met and worked with many cabinet makers in my time. Chris Nelson and his team at Natural Edge Saw Works are amongst the best anywhere. I recently completed a large-scale remodel in Squaw Valley, for which Natural Edge Saw Works built all the cabinets, both brand new construction including complicated trundle bunk beds and a gear vault, as well as the existing cabinetry. The end result is simply beautiful. The experience was so positive that I hired Chris and his team for another remodel project at Donner Lake. Chris is a craftsman through and through. He knows wood, can source almost anything, and has expert in-house finishing capabilities. I also truly appreciate Chris’s team mentality as he often provides helpful ideas and sources to myself and the GCs. I look forward to many more projects in the future with Chris and Natural Edge Saw Works. Holly HollenBeck Ceo Principal Designer
